Easter

So Easter has come and gone again. Our Easter bunny comes early on Saturday (easier on me!). This year the kids got leapster games, books (of course), a lindt chocolate bunny (hollow always!), and their Church clothes. The Easter bunny often leaves a little something else that is too big for their baskets, sometimes it is hidden and sometimes it is out in the open. This year he hid it behind some floor pillows. The kids found them when they accidentally knocked over the pillows in their egg hunt. Duncan got a joker house and riddler action figure and Claudia got a strawberry shortcake figurine with a pool. And yes, if you think you see Claudia in a rare moment of kindness, giving her brother an egg that she found, yes she was caught in the act!

The Church youth put on an egg hunt every year for the younger kids. Claudia was a bit miffed that she aged out of the youngest category this year (3 to 5 year olds) and had to go with the 6 to 8 year olds. Here is Duncan heading out the door (he is quite fast for being so small!)
Never fails. He manages to wrangle some help from some of the youth to hand the eggs right to him. Somehow he manages to charm them.....oh wait. Maybe it's that he strikes fear in their hearts, because they know what a fit and hysterics he can throw when he gets upset. LOL! But here they are, 2 of the youth finding eggs for Duncan and handing them right to him. It isn't like these eggs are really hidden at all, they are all lying right there on the ground for the kids to pick up!
This is Claudia finding eggs with the "older" kids. She thinks she is quite grown up now with being able to read and do math and everything. Even if she was a bit perturbed about having to wait for her egg hunt.

And this is the "official" Easter portrait.

Wait. I hear you saying it. "What??! Is that the best she can do????"

Let me tell you the challenges of getting a before egg hunt photo of Claudia and Duncan when neither wants their picture taken. Yes darn it! This was the best of the bunch.

Don't believe me, eh?

Take a look at the REST of the photos, then judge me.
Here's the first one. And yes, it does look an awful lot like a mug shot doesn't it?

The 2nd photo is the one I posted earlier. The best of the bunch. Just look, it only gets worse from here.......

See the smirk on the little boy? See??? He always does this! Those silly faces! And look at Claudia! Her eyes are really rolling back into her head here. Think I've got a teenager in that 6 year old body? Let me tell you, she has the attitude down, and only 7 more years to perfect it.

You can see it can't you? Duncan literally asking himself, "Is she crazy? How many faces do I have to make before she gives up????"

And the final picture. The pout. Well if mom won't give up we'll just make it look like she is torturing us......

And then I gave up.

Can you really blame me?

Love,
